Since the death of Albus Dumbledore many years ago, Minerva McGonagall has been the headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Some of the former teachers at Hogwarts have remained, but many of McGonagall's former students have returned to her as teachers. Nearly all of the rest have an offspring or two at the school. Combined, this ensures an eventfull year at the highly esteemed school.
Among the new teachers, Headmistress McGonagall has invited a new professor to head up the Muggle Studies division of Hogwarts. Professor Thirteen, as he is known, is the son of the legendary Doctor Viktor Korvick - the enteprenuer of the MagicNet. Doctor Korvick, being a muggle-born wizard, had been familiar with the internet and computers before his own time at Hogwarts, and upon his graduation of the esteemed school he began to re-familiarize himself with computers, tearing them apart and rebuilding them until he had founded the MagicNet.
Professor Thirteen has taken over as heir to the MagicNet empire, and had perfected and mass produced computers engineered to fit the network before accepting his role as a Hogwarts teacher and implimenting a new way to study and turn in homework. Using Wands as the power source and information web MagicNet, with a special spell to gain access to the MagicNet. This web not only allows easier completion of homework assignments, but connects every witch or wizard, while keeping sparate from the Muggle Internet, as they are two mass networks working simultaneous and on different "frequencies."
Though life has seemed nothing but pleasant since Voldemort's time, there have recently been some whispers spread through hushed voices in the corners of dark bars and shops. They say that the easy going life of a world without the Dark Lord is about to end.
Rumor has it that Tom Riddle in his seventh year at Hogwarts had been deeply in love with a woman. A muggle woman. On a holiday from school, they'd become close, and he'd ultimately fathered her child. They say that Tom Riddle was happy with this woman, but once she found out about his wizardry she wanted nothing to do with him. A young girl herself, she gave the baby up for adoption and never spoke to Tom Riddle again.
It is said that this alone was the cause that led to the birth and uprising of Lord Voldemort. His love for the muggle who turned him away in repulsion, taking his child from him in the same, would be enough to taint his very soul.
Now, though the child of Tom Riddle would be an older man, it is believed in some parts that even he has a child. One that was found, surprisingly, to hold powers that the man had no idea were even possible. That child is now at Hogwarts, unaware of his bloodline. Unaware of the terror his grandfather had cast upon the wizarding world. Unaware of the dark side of magic. Unaware, but not uninterested.
